3.5 stars I had been wanting to try Okinawa Sushi for the longest time, especially since I had so many friends vouch for its deliciousness. I stopped in there on a recent Sunday evening to find the dining room completely empty. I had seen it packed in the past, so I was a bit surprised. However, I then spotted the massive number of takeout bags that were behind the front desk; clearly the restaurant had a large number of to-go loyalists. I had not had the chance to pre-order my food, so I just did so live and was told that I would only need to wait 10-15 minutes, which was exactly how everything played out. Though the wait was not very long, I appreciated the comfortable bench they had for me to enjoy in the meantime. I took my order home and started by enjoying the comforting warmth of the Miso Soup. I found that the broth had a good deal of miso paste and seaweed, though the tofu cubes were on the small side, and there were not as many scallions as I would have liked. The Eel Avocado Roll and Salmon Naruto rolls both included fresh fish and avocado. However, I thought the salmon had a decent amount of fat ribboned through it, making some bites a bit tough. Their menu was vast, though, so next time I might opt for something else, particularly a specialty roll that might be more exotic.

Great sushi spot! Really solid place with good food. I got the lunch special and it was a great deal! They refilled on green tea a few times. It was overall great! Ambiance is nice and cozy. They have a parking lot. Great for those who don't like street parking in Hoboken

Their lunch deal sushi rolls are highly recommended! We order from here often. Dining in is also pleasant and friendly service.

Best sushi in hoboken, rolls are large and fresh and price is good. Place is well kept and clean. Kinda a problem having a place this good close to me.. find myself ordering as much as 3 times a week!

Okinawa was a long time takeout staple for us years ago, always quality and affordable sushi and appetizers, we've recently moved and gotten a lot closer to the restaurant so we decided to stop in for an early weekend dinner. The place doesn't seem like all that much from the outside, with its less than scenic location especially compared to most other restaurants in the area, but don't let that fool you. The inside was clean, tastefully designed and intimate. It's clear most of the business for this place is primarily takeout, which is kind of a shame, but at the same time allows for faster in house service and a much quieter dinner scene than most places in Hoboken. The food was delicious, we ordered a 3 roll combo, chicken lo mein and pork gyoza and everything was very flavorful and affordable with some great presentation. We didn't drink but it is BYO which I always appreciate, so the meal only ended up coming out to $60 for the two of us which is pretty phenomenal given the quality of the food and service. Needless to say will be coming back here plenty, highly recommend

Okinawa Sushi is probably by far the best sushi place in the area. We live in the Heights where there's no good sushi at all, so my boyfriend picks up Sushi at Okinawa fairly often. I love all their salmon rolls. We've only ever gotten take out, but it looks like a nice place to sit down. The person that hands us the food is polite.

Good food, and fast service. We usually get their spicy tuna and spicy salmon rolls which we love

Spot on Sushi always freshest in Hoboken, lunch specials are by far the cheapest in Hoboken

Amazing sushi- great specialty rolls & regular ones, give plenty of fish and don't give excess rice
